Hadlee Quinn Thomas was born May 28, 2018 at 4:02pm. This was my second birth, I received excellent prenatal care for both pregnancies with Cheryl and her students. My sons birth ended in a hospital delivery due to exhaustion and not progressing. This birth was very different. I began contractions early Sunday morning. I informed Cheryl early afternoon and she came out to assess the situation, we were in the beginning stages of labor. Contractions then stopped, so I went about my day. Late Sunday night contractions picked up. I started monitoring them and tried to get some rest. Cheryl informed me that she was at a birth and then we could assess my situation again. Once she arrived she said we were making progression and should start setting up for delivery. Cheryl and her students began setting everything up and helped me labor. Monday afternoon labor began to slow down again. So everyone left again, things started to become very intense so they came back. Contractions were very strong, I felt as if I couldn’t do it and I needed help. Everyone was very supportive and encouraging me to keep going and that I was doing great! A little while later I had the urge to push, we began pushing and she was born shortly after that. It happened so much faster than my first time pushing. After she was born, there was still a lot of support and education that was given to us while assessments were being done. Cheryl has always been there for me during pregnancies, labor, and after birth because I have always had so many questions since it’s all new and different each time! If we have another, we will definitely be going to Cheryl and her team again! It’s very loving and supportive to each situation.
